At Peak Mind Hypnotherapy

Welcome, I'm Michael.

My path to Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy has been shaped by a unique professional background, including my time in the Royal Navy and extensive work as a prosthetist and orthotist for the NHS and with charities such as Handicap International overseas. My personal exploration into psychology began in 1991, sparked by my own experiences after returning from the Gulf War and discovering the transformative power of self-reflection and meditation. Now based in the stunning Peak District, I specialise in online hypnotherapy, committed to guiding clients as they navigate obstacles, achieve significant personal growth, and embrace their best possible lives.

Training, Qualifications & Accreditations

I trained with the  Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy school and graduated with an Hypnotherapy in Practice Diploma accredited with the National Council for Hypnotherapy and diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (Clifton Practice).  I’m also a member of the National Council for Hypnotherapy.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (SFH) is a client-centered and empowering approach that is future-oriented and solution-focused, concentrating on desired outcomes rather than past problems. It is known for being practical, structured, and often brief, typically leading to noticeable improvements relatively quickly.

SFH primarily works by utilising a therapeutic trance state (deep relaxation/focused attention) to access the subconscious mind, making it more receptive to positive suggestions. This process helps reduce anxiety, break negative thought cycles, and build new, helpful neural pathways, thereby promoting positive thinking and allowing clients to access their intellectual brain for problem-solving. The therapist acts as a guide, helping clients discover their inherent resources and strengths to achieve their self-identified, achievable goals.
